TL;DR BIO:

Hi! I am Arsh. I am a Producer, Researcher, and Writer based in New York. I have primarily worked as an Archival Producer the past few years but I am now looking for Producer roles and to take a story from start to finish.

I have been fortunate enough to work on some incredible projects: I worked on a documentary about a revolution; I worked on a late-night show that was banned in one country, got threats from two more, so the show obviously won a Peabody; I worked on a curated series and its two spin-offs that were produced remotely during the lockdown; I programmed a FAST channel while also working on videos about the war in Russia, and archival produced and discovered never-seen-before footage for a show that reached the top of the Netflix Most-Watched list in the US.

So even shorter TL;DR? I need a challenge.

A LITTLE MORE IF YOU LIKE TO READ:

My journey in the industry began as a production assistant on the acclaimed documentary "Tickling Giants." Since then, I've had the chance to join a myriad of incredible productions that have found their home on Netflix, PBS, Roku, and YouTube.

At “Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj”, I had the privilege of working closely with the producers as well as the host on various segments. I helped produce the episode “Indian Elections”, and co-produced Hasan’s interview with Member of Parliament, Shashi Tharoor. The episode is the most-watched episode of the show on YouTube.

At “Explained”, a Vox Media Studios production, I was part of a two-person Archival team working remotely on a 14-part series and two 5-part spin-offs and we completed this task in under one year. It is on this show that I learned everything about archival and research. I dove deep into the archives and spoke to people all around the world in order to find those hidden gems.

During my time as the Senior Archival Producer at Vox.com and as the Programming Producer on The Vox Channel, I spearheaded new programming and packaging and oversaw archival usage for Vox.com’s award-winning videos. I also pitched and developed new segments, wrote copy, and edited scripts for the channel. I also had the immense privilege of working with the Vox.com team on their explainer videos.

I then went back to Vox Media Studios, where I recently worked on “Files of the Unexplained” and “Treasure Hunters” as the lead Archival Producer. I oversaw the archival research and usage, the archival budget, fact-checking, rights and clearance, and the final deliverables. I also worked closely with the story producers to develop the episodes as these shows relied heavily on archival material.

As a proud member of the Writers Guild of America, the Archival Producers Alliance, Asian American Documentary Network, and the International Documentary Association, I'm deeply ingrained in the industry's fabric. I have also had the honor of serving as a Juror for the News and Documentary Emmy Awards three times and the IDA Awards twice.

Well if you read the whole thing, I think you deserve a present. So please accept the playlist below as one. I believe playlists are the new mixtapes without the romance so this playlist is quite romantic even if you don’t speak Hindi/Urdu/Punjabi. You may ask “Arsh, why is their a Bollywood playlist on your work website?” and the thing is that I asked and nobody said I couldn’t have one….
